British Values
British Values at Thelwall Junior School
Within the curriculum and our school life, we will be raising the profile of ‘Britishness’ by actively promoting the fundamental British rules of democracy, rules of law, individual liberty, mutual respect and tolerance of all with different faiths and beliefs.
We have found that our school values and British values are very similar. In fact, we believe these are the generic values of all good citizens across the globe.
At Thelwall Community Junior School, our curriculum is broad and balanced and will help prepare our pupils for life in modern Britain. We particularly believe in all aspects of gender, race, religion and disability equality.
All our children are inspired to reach their academic potential. Through many different experiences, including a residential visit, we encourage and develop a range of life skills such as independence and initiative. We encourage all our children to be tolerant of each others' differences and to respect everyone. Finally, our children are taught the history of Britain as set out in the National Curriculum for Histroy.
